Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy Certification Course (10201)

Description:

Become a maternity massage therapy specialist. Tap into the wisdom of over 35 years in the massage & body work profession.  Meet your continuing education goals in this course designed and instructed by Carole Osborne, distinguished expert in prenatal and perinatal massage therapy. The Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy Course is a 32 hour Specialization Certification. Move far beyond general adaptations for maternity and pregnancy massage in this learner friendly, hands-on certification workshop.

Course tuition includes a student handbook with in-depth procedural instruction in techniques taught. Other materials are included featuring numerous pamphlets, marketing examples, and supplemental articles.

Carole Osborne, her workshops, and all of her primary instructors are approved the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider for 32 CEU’s. CE hours from the State of California Board of Registered Nursing, DONA International and for AMTA & ABMP members are available through Body Therapy Associates/Carole Osborne-Sheets. Carole Osborne is also authorized to provide CEUs to massage therapists licensed in the State of Florida.

  • Osteopathic soft tissue techniques and other Western methods
  • Applied tai chi principles
  • Emotional sensitivity
  • Guidelines provided in the course empower you to safely and effectively modify techniques to address women’s concerns
  • Plus other somatic methods modified for emotional, structural, and physiological challenges of the childbearing year

Audience: You should have good anatomical knowledge and skill and experience in Swedish massage and at least one of the following: deep tissue/myofascial release, structural balancing, trigger point/neuromuscular therapy, or passive movement. Advanced students of massage therapy, nurses, midwives, and other healthcare providers should contact Body Therapy Associates for approval.

Certification: Attendance and participation in 32 hours of class, 80% accuracy on the written test, and satisfactory performance on hands-on techniques. Students who do not qualify at the end of the workshop may do additional studies after the workshop to complete requirements. Upon completion you will receive a display quality, professional certificate from the instructor's organization, Body Therapy Associates, San Diego, California.

Instructor:

Carole Osborne Sheets, LMP is recognized as one of the finest instructors of pre-and perinatal massage and is 2008 National Teacher of the Year (AMTA Council of Schools).  Carole is author of the Pre-and Perinatal Massage Therapy and the new book, Deep Tissue Sculpting.  She develops trainings and professional certification courses for massage therapists around the world and lives in San Diego, CA.
